Seawolves welcome Morgan State Monday

The Stony Brook women's basketball team (4-5) looks to get back to .500 when it hosts Morgan State on Mon., Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.

Scouting Morgan State

The Bears have stumbled to a 2-9 start, losing their last three games. Braennan Farrar leads the team in scoring at 13.4 ppg, while Lexus Spears is averaging 7.8 ppg and 6.1 rpg. In their nine losses, the Bears have been outscored by 28.8 points per game.

All-Time Series

The Seawolves are 5-1 all-time vs. the Bears, but had their hands full last season at Morgan State, escaping with a 50-48 win thanks to a buzzer-beater by Kori Bayne-Walker (Rochester, N.Y.).

Snow Show

The snow hasn't arrived in New York yet, but senior forward Brittany Snow (Shamong, N.J.) made sure Snow had a persence at Yale on Saturday. She tied her career-high with 12 made field goals, scoring half of Stony Brook's total points with a 27 point, 10 rebound performance. The 27 points are a season-high and pull her within three points of 1,000 for her career.

Youth Emerging

Freshman Davion Wingate (Atlanta, Ga.) is emerging as three-time America East Rookie of the Week Ogechi Anyagaligbo's (Miami, Fla.) sidekick. The freshmen duo combined for 25 points on Saturday, scoring 17 of Stony Brook's 31 second-half points. Wingate tied her career-high with 11 points, hitting a clutch game-tying three pointer with 36 seconds left. Anyagaligbo added 14 points and eiht rebounds. She has scored in double figures in three straight games.

Team Rebounding

Stony Brook's calling card continues to be its ability to rebound the basketball. The Seawolves have outrebounded their opponents in each of the last five games and seven of nine games this season.
