Five in a row for Anyagaligbo

Dec. 21, 2015

Boston - Freshman forward Ogechi Anyagaligbo (Miami, Fla.) became the first player since 2009-10 to win five straight Under Armour America East Rookie of the Week awards, the conference announed on Monday. Chantell Alford, from Boston University, holds the record of six straight.

Anyagaligbo was a monster on the glass in Stony Brook's win over Wagner last Friday, pulling down 19 rebounds, the most by a Stony Brook player since Dana Ferraro had 23 vs. Boston University on Jan. 18, 2006.

She also contributed heavily in Stony Brook's victory over Morgan State, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds, including two key buckets in the final four minutes.

In two games, Anyagaligbo averaged 8.0 ppg and 14.rpg. She leads the conference in rebounding at 10.0 per contest, which ranks second among all freshmen in the nation, behind Butler's Tori Schickel (10.4 rpg).
