Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's soccer team (8-5-2, 3-2 AE) notched a dramatic 2-1 overtime win over the RPI's no. 15 ranked Albany Great Danes on Saturday to earn three huge conference points. The Seawolves will try to springboard the momentum from the big win into three more points on Saturday, Oct. 29, when they head to Binghamton for a 7 p.m. kick.
Scouting Binghamton
The Bearcats (7-4-5, 1-2-2 AE) are looking to right the ship after consecutive conference losses. They took a step in the right direction with an impressive 2-1 win over Hofstra on Tuesday night. Nikko Psarras and Ben Ovetsky pace the Bearcats in points with four goals and an assist. Charlie Novoth has contributed two goals and four assists, tying for the team lead in assists with 2015 America East All-Rookie selection, Harrison Weilbacher.

If recent outings are any indication of what to expect on Saturday, look for a tight game. The last three meetings between the school's, two of which have been playoff matches, have ended in overtime or penalty kicks. Binghamton has knocked Stony Brook out of the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, winning in penalty kicks in 2014 and in overtime last season. Sandwiched in between those affairs was a 2-1 overtime win for Stony Brook in last season's regular-season meeting.
Hey Now Macdara Heanue
Freshman Macdara Heanue (Garrison, N.Y.) was a huge spark off the bench in Stony Brook's overtime win at Albany scoring his first career goal to knot the game at 1-1 late in the first half then setting up the game-winning penalty kick with a sublime through ball to Vince Erdei (Budapest, Hungary). Heanue wreaked havoc on the Albany defense all night, coming close to a second goal in the second half and nearly setting up another with a pinpoint cross.
