Baltimore, Md. – The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team's April 11 contest at Johns Hopkins will be broadcast to a national TV audience on ESPNU as part of Johns Hopkins' lacrosse television package.
"Having a game like this – a high-quality April non-conference game – on national TV is great for our sport and our program," said head coach
Joe Spallina. "You have two really good lacrosse programs from excellent universities in this game. Having games like this in front of a national audience helps continue to grow the sport of lacrosse across the country, as well as gain valuable experience for our emerging program."
The April 11 meeting between the Seawolves and Blue Jays in Baltimore will be the fourth in the six-year tenure of Spallina as the Stony Brook head coach. Stony Brook has defeated a ranked Hopkins team in two of the first three meetings, including a 10-7 win at LaValle Stadium April 17, 2016.
Johns Hopkins is in its first year as an associate member of the Big Ten in 2017 after competing as an independent for the last two seasons.
