CoSIDA Release

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior Brittany Snow (Shamong, N.J.) from the Stony Brook women’s basketball team has been named to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-District I first team for her excellence in athletics and academics, the organization announced Thursday.

Snow, a psychology major with a 3.67 cumulative gpa, leads Stony Brook in scoring at 15.1 points per game and is second in rebounding at 6.7 per game. A third team all-conference selection as a junior and member of the America East All-Academic team, Snow has scored in double figures in 21 games this season. She became the 15th player in Stony Brook history to reach 1,000 career points on Dec. 14 and is currently 11th on the school’s all-time scoring list.

The 2015-16 Academic All-District Women's Basketball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District I includes schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Joining Snow on the District I Team are Nicholle Aston from Cornell, Katie Healy from St. Bonaventure, Sigi Koizar and Elizabeth Wood from Maine, Kia Nurse from Connecticut and Nyasha Sarju and Whitney Wyckoff from Yale.

Snow will now be in the running for Academic All-America honors, which will be awarded later in the season after another vote from CoSIDA members.
