Junior 1B Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and senior 3B Johnny Caputo (Toronto, Ontario) led the charge offensively. Senior P Tyler Honahan (Parker, Colo.) earned the victory on the mound. He went 5.0 innings and allowed two runs on five hits and struck out five Dayton (0-1) batters.

Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"Anytime you have double digit hits and runs, are able to play all fifteen position players and get four pitchers work you've had a solid day. Give a special mention to Casey Baker on his 6 RBI day and Johnny Caputo's tape measure three-run homer. Clearly, we have a lot of positives going into tomorrow's game"

Turning Point
After Dayton struck first with a single run in the top of the first, Stony Brook came right back by posting three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) and Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) both walked ahead of Baker's single that plated Handley. Real then singled up the middle to score both Parenty and Baker.
