BALTIMORE – Stony Brook women's lacrosse junior
Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) added to her impressive collection of accolades from the 2017 season with Division I Attacker of the Year honors from two organizations, as Ohlmiller received the award from both the IWLCA and ILWomen.
Ohlmiller broke numerous Division I records in 2017, as the junior attack's 86 assists and 164 points set new single-season Division I marks. Ohlmiller's 78 goals were tied for second in the nation as she became the first player in Stony Brook history with 70 goals and 70 assists in a season.
The Stony Brook junior was a Tewaaraton finalist in 2017 and America East Offensive Player of the Year, along with being named a finalist Thursday for the Honda Award by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards.
The Islip native led a Stony Brook offense that was third in the nation in scoring and set the Division I single-season team assists and points records in 2017. The Seawolves went 20-2 this season and were ranked as high as No. 3 in the
Inside Lacrosse poll on their way to their fifth-straight America East title and first appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals.
Ohlmiller returns for her senior year in 2018 along with eight other Stony Brook starters from the 2017 team that went 20-2 and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. The Seawolves also regain the services of 2016 100-goal scorer
Courtney Murphy.
