STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook women's soccer team returns to the road this week, but remains close to home with a pair of short trips to Iona and Hofstra. The Seawolves are coming off of a big, 4-0 win over Wagner in their home opener Sunday afternoon. They started the season with six straight road games before having a chance to play at LaValle Stadium.
SEAWOLVES NOTES
- Stony Brook's 4-0 win over Wagner on Sunday marked the most goals the team has scored in a game this season, as well as the team's second shutout of the year.
- Six different Seawolves earned a point in the victory as junior

Tatum Kauka (Wahiawa, Hawaii) put away their first goals of the season in the game.

Mari Brenden (Oslo, Norway) earned America East weekly honors the second week of the season, after helping lift the Seawolves past Seton Hall. Manner was named Defensive Player of the Week after notching her first shutout of the year, while Brenden garnered Rookie of the Week honors for scoring the game-winner against the Pirates.
- The Seawolves started the season with six-straight road games, facing six teams from three different high-major conferences: Pac-12 (Oregon, Oregon State), ACC (No. 20 Notre Dame, Boston College) and BIG EAST (Seton Hall, St. John's).

Sofia Manner set a new career high with 12 save at Oregon State. She matched her previous best with nine stops in the first half. This was the first time she has reached double figures int he category.
- The Seawolves earned made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 last year, after winning the America East Championship.
- Stony Brook was selected to finish second in the America East this season, behind New Hampshire.
- Stony Brook returns 13 letterwinners from the championship squad, including eight starters.
- The team has also welcomed eight newcomers for the 2018 season. Six freshmen have joined the squad, as well as UMBC transfer

SCOUTING IONA
- Iona enters the week at 2-5 on the season. The team has already faced two other America East opponents, Binghamton and Albany, dropping both matches.
- The Gales recently topped Wagner before falling to LIU Brooklyn on the road, 1-0, in overtime Sunday.
- Amber Crispin and Faith Preziosi lead the Iona offense with two goals apiece on the season.
- Emma Havrilla sits at 2-4 so far, with a 1.06 GAA and .774 save percentage.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
- The Pride will face Columbia on the road Thursday night before taking on Stony Brook Sunday afternoon. The team currently boasts a 4-3 record.
- Hofstra edged out Fairleigh Dickenson 2-1 in overtime before most recently dropping a 2-1 decision at No. 23 Princeton on Sunday.
- Jenn Buoncore leads the team with two goals and three assists so far this season, while Sabrina Bryan and Lucy Shepherd also add a pair of goals each.
- Ashley Wilson has a 3-3 record in goal this season, as well as a 1.85 GAA and .655 save percentage.

Stony Brook returns home next weekend for its final non-conference game of the year, hosting Delaware State on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. The Seawolves will close out the weekend with their America East opener as Maine comes to Long Island on Sunday, Sept. 23 for a 1 p.m. match.
