NEW YORK -- Senior long stick midfielder
Ryland Rees (P. Coquitlam, British Columbia) has been named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Watch List, as announced by the Tewaaraton Award Foundation Thursday night.
The list includes 50 of the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlights the early contenders for the 2019 Tewaaraton Award. This is the third straight season Rees has been named to the list.
Rees, named to the All-World Team this past summer after helping Canada to the silver medal at the 2018 FIL World Championships, has played in 42 career games for the Seawolves and had collected 18 career points and collected 138 ground ball during his career.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
Rees and the Seawolves (2-1) return to the field on Saturday when they open a three-game home stand when Marist visits Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium for a 12 p.m. faceoff.
