STONY BROOK, N.Y. — India Pagan's standout season with the Stony Brook women's basketball team has earned the attention of the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.
Pagan was listed as an All-Met Second Team honoree by the MBWA as the association revealed its All-Met Division I women's basketball selections on Monday.
The forward had a stellar junior campaign for the Seawolves, leading the team with 13.4 points per game while adding in 6.0 rebounds per contest.
"It's an honor to receive this award," Pagan said. "Individual awards are team awards. Without my coaches, teammates, family and friends, I wouldn't be the player that I am. I'm excited and blessed to receive this and I'm excited for my senior year."
The America East All-Conference First Team and All-Academic honoree paced the conference with a 50.6 percent field goal percentage and registered 21 double-digit scoring games, including two double-doubles.
Pagan wrote herself into the program record books following a 13-for-14 (92.9 percent) performance from the field against Maine on Jan. 5th. That percentage ranks second in Stony Brook history and earned her a career-high 26 points.
Pagan is the fifth player under head coach
Caroline McCombs to receive All-Met recognition from the MBWA.
