STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook student-athletes scored big in the (virtual) classroom this past semester.
Seawolves student-athletes produced a combined 3.5 GPA for the spring semester, with
every team notching at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA.
The semester GPA was a record for the department.
In fact, a whopping 88.4 percent of Stony Brook student-athletes — 374 of 423 — produced a 3.0 GPA or better.
Fifty student-athletes earned 4.0 GPAs.
Another 190 student-athletes had a spring GPA between 3.5 and 3.99, while 134 more had between 3.0 and 3.49.
Tennis led the way on the women's side with a 3.89 GPA. On the men's side, the soccer team had a Seawolves-best 3.48.
