STONY BROOK, N.Y. — In his first full month in a Stony Brook uniform, point guard
Juan Felix Rodriguez made quite the impression.
His first game at Island Federal Arena yielded 21 points, five assists and five rebounds and he was off and running on his Centereach Hyundai Student Athlete of the Month campaign in the month of December.
He finished the month averaging just under 13 points per game, adding 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in a 6-4 month for the Seawolves. That record included perfect 4-0 marks at Island Federal Arena and to open conference play, as Stony Brook sits first entering the New Year.
The two-time JUCO All-American at Monroe College enters the weekend second in the conference in total assists and assists per game and sits fourth in the America East in total points. He will lead Stony Brook back to the court January 16 and 17 when the Seawolves resume their season at home, taking on second-place New Hampshire.
