STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Evan Giordano earned first-team All-America East honors as a junior this past season, while leading the Stony Brook baseball team with seven homers and 39 RBIs and also hitting .314 in 47 starts.
On Wedneday, Giordano, a third baseman from Sewell, N.J., was named American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings second-team all-region.
Giordano, who is playing this summer with Vermont in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, reached base in 32 straight games this past season—the program's longest streak since Brandon Alamo produced the same number in 2019.
Giordano also delivered a walk-off RBI single to cap a three-run ninth in a comeback win in an America East Tournament elimination game against UAlbany on May 28.
And he produced hits in seven straight at-bats and reached base safely in nine straight plate appearances (7-for-7, 2 BB) April 9-10 at UMass Lowell. The hit streak was the longest since Bobby Honeyman had hits in nine straight at-bats in 2018.
