STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Baseball summer leagues will be back at full throttle. And Stony Brook will be well-represented, with 22 returning players participating in seven different leagues.
In fact, the New England Collegiate Baseball League — which will host the largest contingent of Seawolves — opens its season on Thursday.
Ben Fero,
Stanton Leuthner and
Cole Durkan all will compete for Mystic, with
John Tuccillo joining Ocean State,
Shane Paradine with Sanford and
Evan Giordano and
Josh O'Neill with Vermont.
Six returning Seawolves will remain on Long Island to compete in the Hamptons League:
Matt Brown-Eiring and
Anthony Jacabacci (South Shore Clippers),
Idris Carter and
Ryan Micheli (Riverhead Tomcats),
Kyle Johnson (Westhampton Aviators) and
Andrew Ledbetter (Southampton Breakers).
Brett Paulsen will join Duluth in the Northwoods League,
Quinlan Montgomery will pitch with the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken League and
Mark Alday will be with the New Britain Bees in the Futures League.
The Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League will include
Brendan Pattermann and
Jack Carr with the New Jersey Eagles and
Devin Sharkey with the New Brunswick Matrix.
The Perfect Game League will include
Evan Fox and
Shane Helmstadt with Albany and
Brad Hipsley with Glens Falls.
Long Island's Hamptons League opens June 15.
