Stony Brook Hosts New Hampshire for Homecoming Game

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook football is set to host New Hampshire on Saturday, kicking off its homecoming game against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. from LaValle Stadium.

OPENING KICK
  • Stony Brook football remains at home and will face New Hampshire on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m., as Stony Brook will play its annual Homecoming Game this week.
  • New Hampshire leads the overall series, 7-3, as the Seawolves look to snap a three-game losing streak in the series, though Stony Brook has held within 10 points in each of those three games. SBU is 2-3 at home in the series, securing home victories in 2015 and 2017.
  • Saturday represents the penultimate home game for the Seawolves, as Stony Brook is not home again until the season finale against Albany on Nov. 11.

  • He is averaging 87.8 receiving yards per game in his last four games.
  • Johnson's touchdown catches have come on receptions of 34 (Richmond) and 29 (Fordham) yards, respectively. Both touchdowns have also come during home games. 
DEFENSIVE LINE CONTINUES TO SHINE
  • Stony Brook's defense has collected 16.0 sacks thus far, and its 2.67 sacks per game rank 18th in the country.
  • SBU is out-pacing its 2.18 sacks per game mark from a year ago.
  • The defense's 16 total sacks ranks sixth in the league, and its 113 total sack yards is fourth.
  • Through six games, Stony Brook has gotten at least 1.0 sack from 10 different players, while getting at least 2.0 from five - 2.5 from Andy Nwaoko, and 2.0 each from Dyshier Clary, Rodney Faulk, Anthony Ferrelli, and Anthony Williams.

CAN'T SPELL TACKLER WITHOUT KALER
  • Aidan Kaler once again put up an impressive performance with 12 tackles, seven solo against Fordham.
  • He has 53 on the year, ranking seventh in the league with 8.8 tackles per game. This includes an average of 10.3 tackles per game in his last four appearances.
  • Kaler has recorded at least 10 tackles in five of his last eight games and has collected at least five tackles in nine straight games.
  • His 12 tackles against Fordham marked the second straight year where a Stony Brook defender has had multiple games with a dozen tackles, as Reidgee Diamanche recorded at least 12 tackles twice a season ago.
