NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Stony Brook women's track & field wrapped up its regular season with a strong showing on Saturday at the Giegengack Invitational. Two Seawolves recorded event wins to headline a day with 10 total top-eight finishes.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Shaylen Goslar crossed the finish line first to win the 1,000-meter. Her impressive clocking of 2:49.10 was a new PR for the event.
- Amelie Guzman won the 3,000-meter event (9:59.89).
- Sophia Squires came in second place in the 1,000-meter, also setting a PR (2:53.90).
- Sienna Bolasingh picked up a second-place finish in the high jump (1.60m).
- The team of Samantha Osei-Kyei, Olivia Schwartz, Danielle Birner, and Jade Pazmino finished third in the 4x400 relay (4:07.67).
- Birner recorded a fourth-place finish in the 500-meter, setting a new PR with a final time of 1:19.16.
- Kyra Franks placed fifth in the 400-meter event (1:00.14).
- Isabel Leonardo finished fifth in the 500-meter. Her time of 1:19.79 in the event was a new best.
- Mia Sandolo took fifth in the 3,000-meter and set a new PR with her final time of 10:42.65.
- Coming in eighth in the 400-meter was Camille Grable (1:01.36).
UP NEXT
Stony Brook is back in action again, starting next Sunday, February 22, for the two-day CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston.
