RICHMOND, Va. — Jona Hennings earned CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors after guiding Stony Brook to a 1-0 victory over Monmouth in the conference opener on Sunday afternoon.

Hennings shut out Monmouth to open conference play victorious. The senior keeper faced 20 shots from the Hawks and turned away all four attempts on net to notch her third clean sheet and fourth win of the season.

With the victory over Monmouth, Stony Brook remained unbeaten and won its conference opener in a rematch of last season's CAA Semifinal. The win marked the Seawolves' third at LaValle Stadium this season.

The Seawolves return to action with a pair of conference games in North Carolina against Elon (Sept. 24) and Campbell (Sept. 27).
