Former Stony Brook hurler Anthony Stutz signed a contract with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League early Tuesday morning. Stutz will initially be assigned to the bullpen and be in uniform tonight when the Otters face Rockford in Rockford, Ill.
The righthander was selected as the team's MVP in 2002, going 6-4 with a 5.62 ERA in 13 starts. He surrendered 82 hits in 75 1/3 innings pitched while striking out 67.
Stutz inked his deal at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning which made him the sixth former Seawolf to be currently playing professional baseball. Joe Nathan, Craig Ansman, Gregg Foster, Alex Trezza and Chris Flinn are the other five.
