Rob Leonard was named America East Player of the Week the conference office announced earlier today. In a must win weekend, Robert Leonard provided the fuel for the Stony Brook offense, batting a team best .583 with six runs scored and six runs driven in.
In the Game 1 win, Leonard was 3-for-4 with a pair of singles, a double and three runs scored. With the Seawolves down 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh in Game 3, Leonard delivered the game-winning walk-off two run homerun to lift Stony Brook to the 3-2 victory. In the final game of the series with a playoff berth on the line, Leonard, for the second straight game, delivered the game-winning homerun. In the seventh with the Seawolves trailing 4-1, Leonard blasted a grand-slam over the left field fence to give the Seawolves a 5-4 lead. Leonard slugged 1.167 over the four game series, and was instrumental in clinching the Seawolves spot in the America East Tournament.
