Three goals in the first half including two just two minutes apart helped #25 Connecticut beat the Stony Brook men's soccer team, 3-0 on Sunday night. Stony Brook is 0-2 on the season and Connecticut is 2-0. Stony Brook will open up the 2007 home part of the schedule, Friday night against Long Island-rival Hofstra.
Karl Schilling and O'Brian White opened up the scoring for the Huskies in the 7th and 9th minute, respectively. Schilling's goal was a penalty kick. UConn would score 21 minutes later for the 3-0 lead.
Collin Geoghegan (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded the only shot for Stony Brook.
Kick-off against Hofstra on Friday night is scheduled for 7 pm.
