Stony Brook's women's soccer team is ranked 10th in the Northeast Region in the latest NSCAA/Adidas poll released Tuesday after consecutive 0-0 ties against Columbia and East Carolina. This marks the first time the Seawolves have been ranked in the poll as a Division I program.
The Seawolves (3-2-2) are coming off a 0-0 tie with Columbia, who is ranked fifth in the NSCAA/Adidas poll, on Friday night. Sophomore goalkeeper Marisa Viola (Cutchogue, N.Y.) made nine saves, her second straight shutout, earning America East Player of the Week honors for her efforts on Monday.
The Seawolves return to action on Wednesday, September 26 hosting the Manhattan Jaspers at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
