Stony Brook University junior midfielder Dominique Adamo (Ramsey, N.J.) of the women's soccer team has been named the America East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. She scored two goals in the 2-1 win over the Black Bears on Thursday and then assisted on freshman Larissa Nysch's (Dresher, Pa.) game-winning goal on Sunday against Binghamton. Adamo has four goals and three assists over the last five games during which the Seawolves are 4-1.
Adamo has started all 17 games and leads the team in goals (six), assists (five) and points (17), with the points mark ranking third in the America East. Stony Brook went 5-2-1 during conference play, finishing in second place for the second time in three seasons.
Stony Brook is the No. 2 seed in this week's six-team America East tournament and will host the winner of Thursday's America East quarterfinal game between No. 3 Hartford and No. 6 Maine in the semifinal round on Sunday at 2 p.m.
