Women's Soccer Set To Host Vermont on Thursday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University women's soccer team will close out the first half of its conference season on Thursday, hosting the Vermont Catamounts at LaValle Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Fans can follow the game with gametracker and live video streaming at www.goseawolves.org.

Last Time Out
Stony Brook had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field, falling to first-place Boston University, 4-0. The Seawolves trailed just 1-0 at halftime before the Terriers scored three second-half goals to put the game away.

Stony Brook is currently in third place in the America East ... the Seawolves 2-0 victory over Albany last Thursday extended their unbeaten streak to three ... the Seawolves outscored their opponents 7-2 during that stretch ... the Seawolves had scored four goals over their first eight games ... freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Morales (Temecula, Calif.) made a season-high nine saves against Albany in recording her first career shutout ... junior Colleen McKenna (Manorville, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the 22nd minute ... it was her first goal of the season and the 11th of her career ... she is just two goals from entering the program's top-10 in all-time goals ... junior Dominique Adamo (Ramsey, N.J.) assisted on McKenna's goal ... she is second on the team with six points (two goals, two assists) ... freshman Tess Hagenlock (Bozeman, Montana) added a goal in the78th minute against Albany ... it was her first career goal ... freshman Caitline Pfeiffer (Holland, N.Y.) assisted on Hagenlock's goal ... it was her first career point ... Morales also made nine saves in the 4-0 loss to first-place Boston University on Sunday.

Scouting Vermont
The Catamounts (2-10-0, 1-2-0 AE) enter Thursday's game off a 1-0 victory over Binghamton. Haley Marks scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute and Alyssa Kelly made eight stops in net to record her first career shutout. Marks has scored a team-high four goals for the Catamounts, who snapped a 10-game losing streak with the win over Binghamton.

All-Time Series
Stony Brook is 8-10 all-time against Vermont and has won four straight meetings including a 2-0 triumph in Burlington last season. Kershaw scored the second goal for Stony Brook, which outshot the Catamounts, 14-10. A goal in the 74th minute from Brooke Barbuto '08, gave Stony Brook a 1-0 win over UVM in the last meeting between the teams at LaValle Stadium on Oct. 9, 2008.
