Stony Brook, N.Y. - After playing four of its last five games on the road, the Stony Brook University women's soccer team will welcome the Fairfield Stags and the Manhattan Jaspers to LaValle Stadium this week. SBU will take on Fairfield on Thursday at 7 p.m. before facing off against Manhattan as part of a doubleheader with the men's team on Sunday at 4 p.m. Fans that can't make it to the game can follow the action via gametracker and video streaming at www.goseawolves.org.

The Seawolves (0-6-1) earned their first point of the season last Friday against the Sacred Heart Pioneers, rallying from a two-goal second half deficit for a 2-2 tie. Sacred Heart took the two-goal lead early in the second half but sophomore Sa'sha Kershaw (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Dominique Adamo (Ramsey, N.J.) scored just over two minutes apart to tie the game.

Adamo nearly won the game in the final seconds of the second overtime but her shot clanged off the crossbar. SBU returned to action on Sunday, falling to undefeated Columbia, 3-0. Stony Brook already has played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in program history having taken on two nationally-ranked teams (No. 10 Maryland, No. 18 Rutgers) and a third team (Siena) which is ranked in the top 10 in its region.

Fairfield enters Thursday's game with a record of 3-3-0 following a 4-0 loss to UMass on Sunday. The Stags also have faced a tough non-conference slate, having fallen to No. 22 Georgetown in overtime before dropping a 2-0 decision at No. 5 Boston College. Kelly Boudreau has led the way for the Stags, posting three shutouts.

The Seawolves are 1-3-1 all-time against the Stags following a 3-1 loss at Fairfield during the 2009 season. It was the first meeting between the teams since 2004.

Manhattan (1-3-1) comes into this weekend's play off a 5-0 loss at Navy. Winless in its last four games since defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 2-1 in the opener, the Jaspers will travel to take on Albany on Friday night before playing the Seawolves on Sunday.

This will be fifth all-time meeting between Manhattan and Stony Brook, with the last matchup coming during 2008 in Riverdale. The Seawolves won 1-0 behind a goal from Trine Allenberg '08 in the 20th minute.
