Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Stony Brook University women's soccer team wrapped up its spring season on Sunday afternoon with a 3-2 victory over the Marist Red Foxes.
The victory over the Red Foxes concluded a successful spring season for the Seawolves. Stony Brook opened its spring with a 3-1 victory over a Japanese college all-star team.
SBU then defeated St. John's, 1-0, before hosting a 7v7 tournament during which multiple Stony Brook teams were undefeated against teams from Sacred Heart and Iona.
Stony Brook was supposed to participate in the KICKS Against Breast Cancer tournament on April 9 before it was canceled because of inclement weather in the area. But the Seawolves still raised over $2500 to donate to the fight against breast cancer.
The 2010 Seawoles won four of its final five regular season games to finish in second place for the second time in three seasons. SBU return nine starters from that squad including two all-conference selections, juniors Dominique Adamo (Ramsey, N.J.) and Alexis Lindo (York, Pa.).
