LIVE: VIDEO

Burlington, Vt. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team kicks off America East action on Sunday against Vermont at 1 p.m. The Seawolves have won three straight against the Catamounts and have not allowed a goal vs. Vermont since 2006.

Stony Brook (2-7-0) is coming off a big win at Fairfield last Sunday. The Seawolves fell behind 1-0, but rallied for a 2-1 win after goals by junior Sa'sha Kershaw (Baltimore, Md.) and senior Rachel Silverman (Rye Brook, N.Y.). The win snapped a seven-game losing streak dating back to the season opener against Iona, a game in which the Seawolves also came from behind to win 2-1.

Kershaw leads the team with two goals and five points through nine games. Her goal against Fairfield came via penalty kick, Stony Brook's first spot-kick of the season.

Vermont is off to a 2-5-2 start and is scheduled to face Holy Cross on Friday in its final non-conference game before hosting the Seawolves on Sunday. The Catamounts were picked ninth in the America East preseason coaches poll after posting a 2-16 record a year ago. Stony Brook and Vermont have faced two common opponents in Rhode Island and Iona; Stony Brook lost to URI and beat Iona while Vermont tied Rhode Island and beat Iona.

Haley Marks and Alexandra Dezenzo are tied for the team lead with three points apiece for UVM. Sarah Leiby has started eight of nine games in goal and has posted a 1.53 GAA with two shutouts.

Last season, Stony Brook dispatched Vermont by a 3-0 score at LaValle Stadium. Taryn Schoenbeck (Newark, Del.), Dominique Adamo (Ramsey, N.J.) and Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) were on target for the Seawolves, while Chelsea Morales (Temecula, Calif.) made six saves.

Sunday's game will not have live stats, but a free live video stream will be available at the above link.
