NSCAA/Continental Tire Northeast Regional Poll
Kansas City, Kan. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team moved up two slots to No. 7 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Northeast Regional Poll, as announced Monday. The Seawolves (4-2-1) are the only America East team in the rankings.
Stony Brook was ranked No. 9 in the region last week and moved up despite a 2-0 loss to Rutgers on Friday. The Scarlet Knights are currently ranked No. 1 in the Northeast with a 7-1-1 record.
Joining Stony Brook in the top-10 are eight BIG EAST schools (Rutgers, Georgetown, Louisville, Connecticut, Marquette, Notre Dame, Seton Hall and Providence) as well as Marist (No. 8) and Quinnipiac (No. 9). This week's poll features 11 total teams as Seton Hall and Providence are tied for 10th.
After playing five of their first seven matches on the road, the Seawolves will open a three-game homestand this week with contests against Manhattan on Friday (5 p.m.) and Lehigh on Sunday (4:30 p.m.).
