Kansas City, Kan. - After an impressive 1-0-1 weekend to open the 2013 season, the Stony Brook women's soccer team has entered the NSCAA Div. I Women's Northeast Region Poll at No. 10.
This week's poll is littered with programs from the ACC, BIG EAST, and American Athletic Conference as Notre Dame comes in at No. 1, followed by Georgetown, Marquette, Boston University, St. John's Syracuse, Rutgers, South Florida, Louisville and then Stony Brook.
The Seawolves opened the season last Friday with a strong 2-2 draw against BIG EAST member Seton Hall and then defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-0, after scoring all six goals in the second half.
The defending America East champions continue their non-conference schedule Friday when the Seawolves host Fairfield at LaValle Stadium at 5 p.m.
