STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's soccer team (4-7-2, 1-1AE) remains at home to start the week of play, hosting Vermont on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., before heading to UMass Lowell for a 4 p.m. match on Sunday, Oct. 9 against the River Hawks.

The Catamounts are coming off of a 1-0 overtime win at home over UMass Lowell on Sunday, which moved them to 6-4-1 on the season and 1-1-0 in league play. Sarah Martin scored the lone with 36 seconds remaining in the extra period. Julia Smith leads the team with five goals this season, while Coco Speckmaier has made all 11 starts in goal, boasting a 0.97 GAA and .838 save percentage with four shutouts.

The River Hawks will travel to Baltimore to take on UMBC before returning home to host Stony Brook Sunday afternoon. Entering the week, UMass Lowell sits at 3-6-2 on the year and 1-2-0 in conference play. The River Hawks fell to Vermont on Sunday, 1-0, and have dropped back-to-back games after topping Albany to begin America East action. Rachel Morrier leads UMass Lowell with two goals and an assist on the year as the offensive production has been spread throughout the team. Julie Schneider has seen the majority of time in goal so far for the River Hawks, sitting at 2-6-1 through nine starts, making 53 saves.

The Seawolves are atop the America East in shots (193) and shots per game (14.85), while also ranking fifth in points with 41 so far. Edwards is Stony Brook's top player on the shots list, ranking third with 31 shots this year. After her two assists against Binghamton, Cahill is now tied for the league lead in the category with five on the season. Gallagher also ranks among the top three in the conference for the Seawolves leading the league with a .881 save percentage and sitting at second with a 0.73 GAA.
