The Blue Hens have been the on the receiving end of some bad luck to open the 2016 season. Four of Delaware's seven losses have come by one goal with two of those losses being overtime defeats. Dani Kabat leads the team with two goals followed by Natalie Zelensky and her goal and two assists. Keep an eye on Delaware's ability to keep pace in the second half. The Blue Hens have only been outscored by a 6-4 margin in the first half of games, but a 12-2 margin in the second halves and overtimes.
Scouting Wagner - Live Stats | Live Video
Wagner enters Sunday's matchup 1-6, the lone win a 5-0 victory over Saint Peter's. The five-goal outburst accounts for 71.4% of its scoring as they have just seven goals for the year and have been shutout in four of seven matches. The Seahawks are led by Megan Fritz and her three goals. She is the only player on the team to score in multiple games as all three of her tallies have come in separate contests. Sydney McNutt has two goals, both of which came in the win over Saint Peters. Wagner is searching for consistency along its back line as they are yielding 2.43 goals per game.
Hutchinson Breaks Through
Senior Lindsay Hutchinson (Millersville, Pa.) had been knocking on the door for her first goal of the season. In Friday's scoreless draw with Columbia she had two near goals go by the way side, the second the result of a fabulous save from the Columbia keeper. The forward finally broke through with her first tally of the season in Stony Brook's loss at No. 17 UConn, ripping a beautiful left-footed shot from 25 yards out into the net.
It's All About Chance
Generating offensive changes has not been a problem for the Seawolves through their first eight contests; turning those chances into goals has been where Stony Brook has struggled. Stony Brook has attempted 97 shots, 42 of which have been on goal. Unfortunately, only four of those shots have resulted in goals, a shooting percentage of 4.1%. The Seawolves are outshooting their opponents 58-49 in the second halves of games and have a 56-37 advantage in corner kicks on the season.
