STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook women's soccer team will travel to Baltimore to take on UMBC Thursday night. The Seawolves will only play in the midweek, with a weekend bye prior to the final week of the regular season. Stony Brook is looking to bound back on the road after suffering its first conference loss in a 1-0 battle at New Hampshire on Sunday.
Seawolves Notes
- Stony Brook currently sits in second in the America East with a 3-1-1 record in league play. Hartford is the only team ahead of the Seawolves, boasting a 3-0-1 record on conference play.
- Sophomore
Alyssa Francese (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) notched her first multi-goal game of the season, scoring twice at Albany. Senior
Julie Johnstonbaugh (Neshanic Station, N.J.) put away back-to-back goals two games later against Binghamton, as she scored on nearly the same play twice in a two-minute span.

Fanny Gotesson (Vermano, Sweden) tallied four points in the 4-0 win over Binghamton, assisting both Johnstonbaugh goals and putting away one of her own.
- Freshman
Tatum Kauka (Wahiawa, Hawaii) was named America East Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 24, after scoring the game-tying goal in the final minute of the first half to position Stony Brook for victory over Maine.
- The Seawolves topped Maine, 3-2, earning their first conference-opening victory since the 2013 season.

Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) and freshman
Mari Brenden (Oslo, Norway) earned America East weekly honors the second week of the season, after helping lift the Seawolves past Seton Hall. Manner was named Defensive Player of the Week after notching her first shutout of the year, while Brenden garnered Rookie of the Week honors for scoring the game-winner against the Pirates.
- The Seawolves started the season with six-straight road games, facing six teams from three different high-major conferences: Pac-12 (Oregon, Oregon State), ACC (No. 20 Notre Dame, Boston College) and BIG EAST (Seton Hall, St. John's).
- Manner set a new career high with 12 save at Oregon State. She matched her previous best with nine stops in the first half. This was the first time she has reached double figures int he category.
- Stony Brook was selected to finish second in the America East this season, behind New Hampshire.
- The Seawolves earned made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 last year, after winning the America East Championship.
Scouting UMBC
- The Retrievers enter the week at 1-12 on the year, 0-4 in America East play.
- UMBC's only win was a 4-3 victory over Mount St. Mary's at home in the team's final non-conference game of the season.
- The Retrievers have been outscored 11-1 through four conference games, most recently falling 3-0 at Vermont on Sunday.
- Christina Corbi (3g, 1a) and Danielle Fuentes (2g, 3a) both lead the team with seven points on the year.
- Leah Roth has seen the bulk of the time in goal this season. She has a 1-8-0 record, 2.83 GAA and .557 save percentage.
