STONY BROOK N.Y. -- The Stony Brook women's soccer team will open postseason play by hosting UMass Lowell in the America East Semifinal on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 12:00 p.m. from LaValle Stadium. It'll be the Seawolves second-consecutive contest against the Riverhawks after topping them 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 21.
The Seawolves are coming off a 11-6-1 (6-1-1 AE) regular season, capturing their first ever America East Regular Season title.
Coach Faherty's Thoughts
"Our student-athletes worked extremely hard during the regular season to put themselves in a position to host during the conference tournament. As a group we are very excited to represent Stony Brook University in the America East semifinals on Sunday," said head coach
Brendan Faherty.
"UMass Lowell is a very good side, a team that has continued to get better over the course of the season, which is a credit to their coaches and student-athletes. They have quite a few dynamic and creative players that we will need to slow down in order for us to find success. We've had a good week of preparation and I think we now just want Sunday at noon to get here so we can kick off."
