STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook women's soccer team remains at home to start the week, hosting Binghamton Thursday night, before heading to New Hampshire on Sunday. The Seawolves notched their fifth shutout of the season on Sunday, topping Vermont 4-0 as seven different players earned a point in the victory. Stony Brook enters the week at 7-5-1 on the year, 2-0-1 in league play.Â

Seawolves Notes
- Stony Brook is out to its best start in America East play since the 2009 season, when the team began conference play with a 2-0-1 record through its first three games. That year, the Seawolves played six league games before suffering their first loss.Â
- Sophomore
Alyssa Francese (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) notched her first multi-goal game of the season, scoring twice at Albany last week. She has had a goal in each of the last four games, leading the team with eight goals on the season.Â
- Freshman
Tatum Kauka (Wahiawa, Hawaii) was named America East Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 24, after scoring the game-tying goal in the final minute of the first half to position Stony Brook for victory over Maine.Â
- The Seawolves topped Maine on Sunday, 3-2, earning their first conference-opening victory since the 2013 season.
- Stony Brook earned its third 4-0 win of the year after a lopsided win over Vermont on Sunday.Â

Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) and freshmanÂ
Mari Brenden (Oslo, Norway) earned America East weekly honors the second week of the season, after helping lift the Seawolves past Seton Hall. Manner was named Defensive Player of the Week after notching her first shutout of the year, while Brenden garnered Rookie of the Week honors for scoring the game-winner against the Pirates.Â
- The Seawolves started the season with six-straight road games, facing six teams from three different high-major conferences: Pac-12 (Oregon, Oregon State), ACC (No. 20 Notre Dame, Boston College) and BIG EAST (Seton Hall, St. John's).

Sofia Manner set a new career high with 12 save at Oregon State. She matched her previous best with nine stops in the first half. This was the first time she has reached double figures int he category.Â
- Stony Brook was selected to finish second in the America East this season, behind New Hampshire.
- The Seawolves earned made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 last year, after winning the America East Championship.Â
Scouting Binghamton
- Binghamton currently sits at 7-4-2 on the year, 2-1-0 in America East play.
- The Bearcats have won five of their last six games, falling only at Vermont, 1-0.Â
- Most recently, Binghamton has topped UMBCÂ 3-0 on the road, and is coming off of a 1-0 win over Maine at home on Sunday.Â
- Kayla Saager leads the team with nine goals and four assists on the season.Â
- Erin Theiller was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after playing every minute of Binghamton's two wins last week.
- Haylee Poltorak has seen the bulk of the goal keeping duties this season, boasting a 4-2-1 record, as well as a .864 save percentage and 0.56 GAA.
Scouting New Hampshire
- New Hampshire enters the week at 5-5-1 on the season, 1-1-0 in the league.Â
- The Wildcats topped UMBCÂ 1-0 in overtime before falling at Maine, 1-0, last week. They will travel to UMass Lowell on Thursday before hosting Stony Brook.Â
- Ally Reynolds leads New Hampshire with three goals and an assist on the year.Â
