STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's soccer team (5-3-2, 2-0-0 AE) will battle conference-opponent Binghamton (3-6-2, 2-0-0 AE) on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. from the Bearcats Sports Complex.

This will be the second game of the Seawolves' three-game road trip, which saw them draw No. 21 Fordham on Tuesday night. It was Stony Brook's second consecutive matchup with a nationally ranked opponent after it dominated then-No.16 UMass Lowell, 4-0.

Seawolves Notes
  • The Seawolves enter the contest in a tie for first place in the America East with the Bearcats.
  • In the draw with Fordham, freshman goalkeeper Christian Miesch (Brig, Switzerland) picked up his second-consecutive shutout. He hasn't allowed a goal in nearly three games, dating back to Sept. 21's 2-1 win over Albany where he allowed a goal in the fifth minute.
  • Freshman Rondell Payne (San Fernando, Trinidad) was named America East Rookie of the Week after scoring his first-career goal in the win over UMass Lowell.
  • Senior Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway) leads the Seawolves with five goals this season.
  • In the win over UMass Lowell, Ryan Anatol became the winningest head coach in Stony Brook men's soccer division 1 history.
  • Stony Brook last battled Binghamton in 2017, drawing 0-0 at LaValle Stadium.
  • The Seawolves (16 points) were tabbed sixth in the America East preseason poll, just ahead of Hartford (12 points) and Binghamton (11 points). UMass-Lowell (44 points), New Hampshire (42 points) and Albany (40 points) finished atop the poll heading into the new season.

Scouting Binghamton

  • Binghamton picked up a pair of conference victories over Hartford and then-No. 23 New Hampshire. It's the first time the Bearcats are 2-0-0 in conference play since 2014.
  • Sophomore midfielder Noah Luescher was named America East Offensive Player of the Week after finishing with a goal and an assist on Saturday. He leads the Bearcats with eight total points.
  • Redshirt junior Chris Shutler has started all but one matches in goal for Binghamton, maintaining a .750 save percentage.
  • The Bearcats are coached by Paul Marco, who is currently in his 17th season. Marco has led Binghamton to two America East Conference titles.
