STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's soccer team (6-3-2, 3-0-0 AE) will wrap-up its three-game road trip with a visit to Penn State on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. from Jeffrey Field.
The Seawolves are 1-0-1 on their current road trip. On the trip, they drew then-No.21 Fordham, 0-0 and defeated Binghamton, 2-1.
Seawolves Notes
- After topping Binghamton, Stony Brook took sole possession of first place in the America East.Â
- Freshman Trausti Birgisson (Kopavogur, Iceland) scored his first-career goal on Saturday night when he converted a header on a cross from junior Mark Irvine (Southampton, England).
- Senior Martieon Watson (Vessigny, Trinidad) scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute in the win over Binghamton.
- Stony Brook is led by senior Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway), who has five goals on the season.
- With Stony Brook's win on Sept. 21 over then-No. 16 UMass Lowell, Ryan Anatol became the winningest head coach in Stony Brook men's soccer division 1 history.
- This will be the first-ever matchup between the Seawolves and Penn State.
- Stony Brook (16 points) was tabbed sixth in the America East preseason poll, just ahead of Hartford (12 points) and Binghamton (11 points). UMass-Lowell (44 points), New Hampshire (42 points) and Albany (40 points) finished atop the poll heading into the new season.Â
