WORCESTER, Mass. – The Stony Brook swimming and diving team concluded its 2018-19 season on Sunday after wrapping up its final day of action at the America East Championship on campus at WPI. Seven swimmers qualified for the day's event finals with
Haille Bogumil (Bradenton, Fla.) netting a top-10 finish in the 100-yard freestyle.

In the team standings, Stony Brook placed sixth overall with 185 points. UMBC took home the title and New Hampshire was runner-up.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Stony Brook made its presence known in both the 100-yard freestyle and 200 breaststroke, securing three swimmers in a final for each of those events.
- After making the 'A' final in the 100 breaststroke the previous day, Sara Chin (Long Beach, Calif.) qualified for the 'B' final in the 200 breaststroke, ultimately placing 11th with a time of 2:24.66.
- Jess Salmon (Rexford, N.Y.) was right behind her in 12th, touching the wall in 2:25.79.
- Ava DeMayo (New York, N.Y.) was 21st in 2:33.86.
- In the 100 free, Bogumil paced the Seawolves with a 10th-place finish (53.64).
- Michelle Wootton (Oakdale, N.Y.) was 16th (54.23) and Gabrielle Matiszik (Milwaukee, Wis.) took 24th (55.69).
- Caroline Dunn (Brookeville, Md.) qualified for a final in the 200 back, notching a 16th-place finish in 2:11.27.
- Mikaylie DePalma (Melville, N.Y.) and Lexie Bakke (Portland, Me.) went 14-15 in the 1650 free with times of 18:45.90 and 19:14.30, respectively.
- The 400 free relay team of Bogumil, Wootton, Emma Waechter (Lewiston, N.Y.) and Matiszik combined for a time of 3:37.20 to place sixth.
