2/4/2026 2:00:00 PM

STONY BROOK, N.Y. Stony Brook junior outfielder Matthew Jackson was named to the All-CAA Honorable Mention Team, the conference announced today. The Seawolves were also picked to finish second in the North Division preseason poll.

A Staten Island native, Jackson enters the 2026 season after earning All-CAA Honorable Mention honors at the conclusion of the 2025 season. He appeared in 37 games last season, making 28 starts, and finished the year with multiple career-highs in batting with a .324 average, 35 hits, 25 runs scored, 18 RBI, seven doubles, and five home runs. Jackson also stole 16 bases in 18 attempts and reached base safely in 33 of 37 games.

The 2026 CAA Baseball Championship will be held May 20–23 at UNCW's Brooks Field. The six-team, double-elimination tournament will feature the top two teams from each division, along with the two highest-RPI teams that did not finish in the top two of their division.

For the first time since 2021, the CAA will use a divisional format. Northeastern earned all four first-place votes to top the North Division poll. Hofstra, Stony Brook, and Towson tied for second, followed by Monmouth.

In the South Division, UNCW was selected to finish first, with Charleston and Campbell rounding out the top three. Elon, William & Mary, and North Carolina A&T completed the poll.
