RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook senior pitcher
Micah Worley has been named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Worley delivered a dominant outing in the Seawolves' 5-0 shutout victory over Hofstra on Saturday. The Kirkwood, Mo., native tossed a career-long 7.2 innings, allowing just three hits while striking out a career-best 13 batters. The left-hander limited Hofstra to just one runner reaching second base and recorded the most strikeouts by a Stony Brook pitcher since 2015. The performance also marked Hofstra's first shutout loss of the season and Worley's third game this year with double-digit strikeouts.
The senior improves to 4-3 on the season and currently leads the CAA with 68 strikeouts while ranking second with a 2.53 ERA. He also sits third in the conference in opponent batting average. Worley becomes the first Seawolf to earn CAA Pitcher of the Week honors since
Eddie Smink in 2024.
The Seawolves return to the field on Tuesday to host Manhattan at Joe Nathan Field. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Stony Brook enters the matchup having won its last two CAA series.
